Tips & Best Practices
- Organize before transferring: Rename symbols in the source document before transferring for better organization
- Use search for large libraries: If you have many symbols, use the search feature to quickly find what you need
- Test with one document first: When transferring to multiple documents, test with one target first to ensure the symbols transfer correctly
- Save your work: Save all documents before running the script, especially when overwriting existing symbols
- Check symbol dependencies: Ensure any nested symbols or linked assets are also transferred if needed

ㅤ
Troubleshooting
Alert Message: "You need at least 2 open documents to transfer symbols"
Solution: Open at least two Illustrator documents before running the script
Alert Message: "No symbols found in source document"
Solution: The selected source document doesn't contain any symbols. Create symbols first or select a different source document
Alert Message: "No symbols selected for transfer"
Solution: Select at least one symbol from the list before clicking OK
Problem: Symbols not appearing in target document
Solution: Check the Symbols panel in the target document. The symbols are added to the library but no instances are placed on the canvas
Problem: Script runs slowly with many symbols
Solution: This is normal for large batches. The warning dialog alerts you when processing >100 transfers. Consider breaking the operation into smaller batches
